IvyCamp in Association with IIT Delhi presented the first of a series of interactive webinars on the "Path to Becoming be a Successful Entrepreneur". The webinars will include a number of topics such as traits to build to become successful entrepreneurs, financial skills to build up to be successful, practical management and negotiation skills, and more; With panelists include IIT Distinguished Alumni, senior academicians, entrepreneurs, and business leaders.

This second webinar engages with Mr. Yashish Dhaiya, CEO Policy Bazaar, and IITD Distinguished Alumni Awardee, and Dr. Wali , MD FITT, to discuss what basic business skills Entrepreneurs need to build up to help them be successful and also how to deal with failures along the way which are a big part of the learning process. Mr. Dhaiya brings a unique perspective given his journey to become one of the country's leading visionaries and entrepreneurs. Dr. Wali is working with entrepreneurs from the ground up to help them grow in their early stages and will share how one of India's leading technical incubators leverages the power of the Alumni and Institute to support Entrepreneurs. The series focuses on a number of key topics in a part-by-part series:


  • Part 1: Financial Skills Every Entrepreneur Should have in their Repertoire.
  • Part 2: Basic Business skills for every good entrepreneur.
  • Part 3: How an Entrepreneur manages and picks themselves up after failures.

Yashish Dahiya, CEO & Co-Founder, PolicyBazaar.com holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from IIT Delhi, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Ahmedabad, and an MBA from INSEAD. He started his career as a Business Unit Head at Illinios Tool Works and later moved on to Bain & Co. to work as a Management Consultant. Beforestarting his entrepreneurial journey with PolicyBazaar.com, he worked with First Europa, a Global Online Insurance Broker, as their CEO. At First Europa, he was responsible for leading the global expansion and managing the business of the company across 9 geographical locations. He has also had experience of working with an online travel aggregator, ebors.com, a leading pan-European online travel agency and led their business as the Managing Director.

Dr Anil Wali is the Managing Director at the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), an organisation created by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (ITT Delhi) to liaise between the Institute and the industrial sector. For over 25 years, it has come up with innovative ideas to create associations and bonds with companies to allow for knowledge transfer. Besides having strategic customer and quality orientation, he has multifaceted experience with respect to R&D management, technology development and licensing, infrastructure & project issues, opportunity assessment, entrepreneurship, IPR policy and strategy, open innovation, training etc. Dr. Wali is part of several committees – addressing, inter alia, issues of education, industry-academia relationship, IP management and entrepreneurship development.

Anju Gupta is the Co Founder and President at IvyCamp. She has over 15 year’s experience in the Product Management and Marketing in the software industry. For the past 15 years she has worked in a number of roles (most recently as Sr. Director) at Risk Management Solutions Inc., in California, the leading provider of catastrophe risk models for the global re/insurance industry. Her roles have included building risk assessment models for earthquakes, leading the software development cycle for RMSs first ASP weather derivatives product, leading the product management team for RMS’s core catastrophe software product line (revenue of over $100 million), playing a key role in the core team that laid the groundwork for RMS next generation modelling platform, and the architect of RMSs first usage based pricing methodology for its next generation platform.
